Reinforcing steel in bars and coils refers only to weldable, ribbed profiled stell that has been made by hot-rolling and/or cold-working of carbon steel.

Reinforicng steel in mesh refers only to machine welded mesh of reinforcing steel. Longitude and transverse cords can be made of different steel classes.
